This introduction highlights the remarkable works of Zeek Catweazle. Renowned for his imaginative novels set in a whimsical town, he also pens pieces for the tabloid "The Fools Funnybone," famous for its bold take on real fake news.
What many may not realize is that Zeek has been crafting lyrics for various artists for years under his birth name, S. A. Smith.
His journey from lyricist to poet was a seamless and confident evolution, showcasing his versatile talent in the realm of written art.
I have been passionately writing short stories since childhood. In 1980, while recovering in a hospital with a broken left arm, I made the bold decision to write a novel. I was determined to infuse my unique sense of humor into the story, and within two weeks, I completed my first novel, "Who Stole a Cigarette From Nigel?" This book tells the entertaining tale of 70-year-old hippies who defiantly continue living as if they were in their twenties.
While very few people grasped the concept, largely due to my distinctive humor, I remained unfazed. I found the story hilarious, and I still do.
In 2020, I embarked on writing my second novel, "The Foddleburg Tales Volume 1: The Curse Of The Panty Thief of Foddleburg." This captivating story follows a character who mischievously steals panties from everyone’s washing lines. Five years later, I am still perfecting it, and I am confident it’s even funnier than my first book, despite the likelihood of encountering similar misunderstandings. Additionally, I am excited to be planning a children's book that will explore a completely different genre. It will consist of a collection of short stories. I am wholeheartedly enthusiastic and optimistic about the journey ahead in my writing career.
The Fools Funnybone is a tabloid that I write and produce, providing you with real fake news. Frustrated by the traditional media tabloids and TV stations that spread nothing but lies, I decided to create my own version with entirely made-up stories.
I began writing and printing The Fools Funnybone on paper shortly after the end of B.U.M.S., the fanzine from Zeek & Giz. After two editions, I transitioned to an online format, which is still available today.
I am currently working on the fourth edition, which I hope will be online sometime next year. You can read the earlier editions here.
For years, Zeek passionately shared his unique insights and occasionally controversial opinions on his blog. Now, he believes it's crucial to return to writing, as our society appears to be in a state of mental paralysis. People have become like zombies, lost in the glow of their mobile devices and oblivious to the vibrant world around them. It's time to awaken from this daze and reclaim our awareness of life!
